Lamachodpa Tibetan Incense

Lamachodpa is a traditional Tibetan incense made from a blend of 31 plant ingredients according to traditional Tibetan formulas.

Compared with many Tibetan incenses, its strongly medicinal herbal character is relatively subdued, allowing subtle sweetness, floral notes, and the complexity of the natural plant materials to emerge. Both fragrances offered here contain at least three types of flowers and are made without essential oils, chemicals, pesticides, or additives.

【Two Fragrances】

・Cleansing
A less sweet expression, combining floral notes with woody freshness and a clean bitterness. Contains approximately 5% neem leaves.

・Flower
A layered fragrance combining floral richness with the complexity of natural plants. Contains approximately 3% rosemary flowers, 3% temple-gathered marigolds and 10% wild rose, with flowers making up approximately 26% of the blend.

【Traditional Production】

Lamachodpa is handmade in the Tibetan refugee community of Tashi Jong Village in Himachal Pradesh, northern India, following traditional formulas and production methods.

Thirty-one plant ingredients are dried, individually ground with a mortar and pestle, blended in fixed proportions and sun-dried. The ingredients receive blessings from monks, and the finished incense is wrapped in handmade paper and sealed with beeswax.

【Specifications】

Fragrances|2 types

Contents|35 sticks

Burning time|approx. 1 hour per stick

Included|Unglazed ceramic incense holder

【How to Use】

These incense sticks are thicker than standard Japanese incense and may not fit conventional incense holders. Use the included holder or burn horizontally in an incense bowl with incense ash.

As the incense has no bamboo core, each stick can be broken to the desired length to adjust burning time.

【Please Note】

・As the plant ingredients are blended by hand, subtle variations in sweetness and herbal character may occur even within the same fragrance.

・Variations in the handmade paper, stamped markings and beeswax seal are inherent to the handmade production.
