About mrak
Ethno Flow Collective
mrak researches everyday objects and plant materials from different regions, documenting the materials, structures, uses, and living environments behind them through photography, film, and writing.
We introduce and sell the objects we research while considering their place in contemporary life, connecting demand with production. We also develop research-led projects, including connecting materials and techniques with makers in other regions.
Field
We visit places in person to see, listen, and research, gathering information firsthand.
Documentation
We document materials, techniques, objects, people, places, and the ways of life behind them through photography, film, and writing.
Perspective
Rather than relying on established evaluations or categories, we look at each subject together with its background and origins.
Editing
We organize the objects and information gathered through research and introduce them in ways that connect with contemporary life.
From this process come mrak’s current activities: introducing and selling objects, exhibitions, and collaborations with makers across different regions. Alongside the objects themselves, we continue to share our field research, documentation, and the knowledge gained through that process.
